An aggressive elephant wished for killing an elderly lady and raiding plantations in Prachin Buri has been caught and taken back to a sanctuary after an effort involving around one hundred fifty forestry and wildlife rangers as well as volunteers.
The 25 yr previous hot-tempered elephant had been inflicting intensive damage to orchards and farms for months, and stomped a seventy three yr old girl to dying as she was selecting fruits and vegetables. Cover-up for the quick seize of the elephant, named within the doc as “Sidor Noke,” had been signed final week by the deputy chief of the National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department.
Rangers tried to lure the elephant to the Khao Ang Rue Nai Wildlife Sanctuary, the place he got here from, but the elephant returned to the village in the Krabin Buri district, possibly looking for food. The return of the elephant even prompted villagers to place up a sign – although the animal can not perceive – telling the elephant to keep away from the group.
In one other try to convey the elephant back to the sanctuary, one hundred fifty forestry and wildlife rangers from Protected Areas Regional Offices 1 and 2, as well as volunteers, worked collectively to track the animal. Once they discovered the elephant, tranquilliser darts were fired to soundly capture the elephant. A backhoe was then used to load the animal onto an army truck and drive to the wildlife sanctuary within the Sanam Chai Khet district of Chachoengsao, which borders Prachin Buri.
