A twenty-fold increase in manufacturing was the objective of the Croatian automotive cosmetics firm Alfa Car. To obtain this, the entire manufacturing cycle, housed in a new production plant, was automated. Festo provided a whole resolution for more than 200 course of valves – together with project administration.
A number of different products together with water, alcohol, glycerine, surfactants, oleic and acetic acids, sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide are saved, transported, blended and bottled for the production of automobile beauty products. This requires complex process automation solutions. Rich has taken an enormous step into the future: while building a new production plant, the complete production cycle was totally automated, from the uncooked supplies to the bottling line for the finished merchandise. One point of focus was the seamless automation of the process valves.

Customised complete solution
To handle the problem, the company worked together with the system integrator Arp Lučko and Festo. It can be Festo’s role to project handle the automation of the method valves. To guarantee quick integration into the model new system and most reliability sooner or later manufacturing process, customised full options have been equipped that cowl the complete range, from the process valve units to the valve terminals. When deciding on the necessary elements, particular attention needed to be paid to the potentially explosive surroundings.
Reliability counts
The communication between numerous different automated ball valves and the new plant’s higher-level control system was also decisive for optimum course of automation.
