A wild bull charged at a group of 5 park rangers patrolling in Tat Mok National Park in Phetchabun province on Sunday afternoon. The bull hit squadron chief Woraphot Piraksa head-on, knocking out some of his tooth and injuring his face, mouth and physique. Team member Jiraphong Nakrabum was also injured. The staff made it to Phetchabun hospital by Sunday evening after one other staff of rangers rescued them.
A helicopter rescue was out of the question as the group were a two and a half hour stroll away from the nearest touchdown spot. The ambulance despatched by National Park chief Thongchai Rajabuakaw parked as close to as attainable, 5 kilometres away.
